Hi, I am Frank Benade, one of the founders of LYLAC .
I have various backgrounds and have experienced cancer in my own life and experienced a gap in after-care.

I also work as a Transformation Coach & Counselor working With Cancer Survivors and their Families .
I am a qualified Life Coach and work together with Cancer Coaches for 4 years with our different skills and experiences.
LYLAC started in 2016 with just an idea and a blank canvas. Since then we’ve been developing LYLAC which has grown over
the years into what it is today

COUNSELLING
Being diagnosed with cancer can have a huge impact on the patient and his/her family.
We have full- and part-time counsellors/social workers to support you and your family during this challenging time.
We believe that your psychological and emotional disposition will be a determining factor during the treatment period.
Therefore the latest techniques and methods are used to kick start the immune system.
Consultations and group sessions are free of charge. Consultations are by appointment only.
To attend a group, please book with the counsellor (contacts can be found below).

We recognize that when cancer is diagnosed, the whole family is affected and therefore
offer support to empower patients and their families to cope with the illness, the treatment and their feelings and emotions.
We offer a variety of counselling services, including:

Individual therapy.
-Basic information regarding your cancer
-Basic information to children regarding cancer and treatment of a family member
-Crisis intervention
-Practical assistance with resources and referral to resources
-Hospital visits
-SUPPORT GROUPS (you will get information regarding support groups from the counsellor).

Other support includes:
-Marriage and family therapy
-Trauma Counselling (Registered Trauma Counsellor with HPCSA/Practice Number with BHF(Medical Aid Fund Board) MPsych )
-Life Coaching.
-Group sessions (including Hoping is Coping & Look Good Feel Better)
-Play therapy
-Information on, and preparation for procedures, treatment and operations
-Special information regarding wigs, hairpieces and hats.

The counselling service is available to patients and their loved ones.
