General information
The Mediation Academy provides accredited training to aspiring mediators and existing mediation practitioners in Family Law, as well as specialised mediation consulting services to clients across South Africa.
Unique to the industry, we provide a full complement of online video training courses in addition to the traditional medium of classroom training. Online video training programs are designed to enable users to view videos and complete assignments at their own pace, from desktop computers, smart televisions and mobile phones. Support is provided via Skype and telephone, guiding mediators through the academic and business aspects of becoming independent mediation practitioners.
The curriculum is built on international standards and best practices, incorporating mediation approaches from the UN and IMI, and adapted to build on the rich, millennia-old history of alternative conflict resolution on African soil. On completion, mediators will have met the training standards set by South African court-annexed legislation as well as those required by the internationally acclaimed International Mediation Institute (IMI) and the African Network Group (ADR Register).
