What is Kinderkinetics?
Kinderkinetics is the profession that aims to promote and optimise the neuromotoric development of young children (0-13 years), through scientifically based physical activity.
Kinderkinetics training within the Kinderkinetics programme is structured around the developmental needs of children of different ages, since developmental needs and neuromotoric development of children differ drastically at different ages. These developmental needs are established by using scientifically based test batteries.
The baby programme within the Kinderkinetics scope of practice aims to stimulate the sensory systems and the motor abilities needed to promote optimal development in babies. The parents are equipped with knowledge and babies with skills necessary for their future scholastic performance.
A Kinderkineticist is a person with the following qualifications:
- A three year BA/BSc degree in Human Movement Science
- Honours degree in Kinderkinetics (subject to verification)
- Is registered at the South African Professional Institute for Kinderkinetics (SAPIK)
