General information
CHAPS, in collaboration with the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD), provides Quality Assurance and training and assessments for HIV related programs and MMC in Africa.
This intensive training programme is offered to a variety of medical personnel interested in providing medical male circumcision services in their medical facilities.
The CHAPS programme has trained over 3,500 Health care professionals on how to offer safe MMC services in South Africa to date.
CHAPS trainings offer both theoretical and practical components of medical male circumcision therefore, not only enabling trainees to acquire the necessary technical skills, but also providing them with on-going support and guidance to successfully, safely and efficiently roll-out their own neonatal circumcision processes.
The CHAPS Training programme is broken down into 3 key course areas which are facilitated by world renowned and experienced trainers.

VMMC Course
• General Practitioner (GP) Training Project
• Dorsal slit Circumcision training
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and VMMC
Emergency training
• PrePex Circumcision Training
