'Jadatharaya' means 'one with matted locks', referring to the traditional yogi who would sit in meditation for long hours while energy spiralled up his spine, causing his hair to twist and become matted.
The Jadatharaya Institute of Right Living and Yoga was established by Swami Shankarananda Maharajji to teach Kriya Yoga to devotees and the surrounding community. It is a non-profit organisation for yoga aspirants of like mind to meet and learn together in spiritual unity. One does not have to follow an eastern religious path to take part in the yoga classes.
