The South African National Burial Register is a proudly South African hosted and based product designed and developed by The South African National Burial Register (PTY) Ltd.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the Management of Cemetery Data, we realized that it is to the best interest of the South African community to have a well-managed Community Burial Related Website which is accessible to the general public and also International visitors.

The South African National Burial Register offers all Funeral Undertakers, Tombstone Manufacturers, Coffin Manufacturers, Genealogy Individuals and related service providers the opportunity to have an above average Marketing Platform that will not only be to the advantage of the Members but also to visitors. Membership Profiles will be accessible to the owner to change and update on a regular basis without any limits to activity. The system is based on Facebook technology and therefore extremely user friendly.

OUR MISSION
The mission of the S.A.N.B.R is mainly to offer the South African residents a guaranteed platform where they can gain information regarding burials at no cost as visitor. Registered members may even add further personal relationship details etc… to listed deceased’s.

The South African National Burial Register strives to serve a community and also dedicated amateur and professional family researchers and enthusiasts with pride. A person that has not yet started with genealogical research can’t imagine the passion, the determination and the great exultation that the genealogist experience when achieving a breakthrough, and makes a final link to complete a family line. It is an experience of a lifetime and that is one of the main reasons why the South African National Burial Register was developed and now Hosted and Maintained by The South African National Burial Register (PTY) Ltd and not external companies. This feature can be to the advantage of all especially if we can rely on the support of all our South African Municipalities.

For us it is more than just a Burial Register or yet another genealogy resource, it is a register augmented with the family- and cultural history of time. Valuable information may be completely lost to later generations if not recorded and maintained in a user friendly environment and easy to access system. We managed to record thousands of burials conducted on farms and very old cemeteries in South Africa which will be added to the records after verification was completed and accepted by the Chief Data Verification Officer.
Information accessible as Visitor will be free of charge and will be the same information made available to registered members. The advantage that Registered members will enjoy is to be able search unlimited records.

OUR VISION:
The South African National Burial Register’s vision is to offer a service “Par Excellence” and to assist in the clamp down of illegal “Fly-By-Night” business men and woman who is only there to rip-off people who does not know who they actually deals with. All our business related memberships will be verified by the South African National Burial Register and will NOT receive our “Shield of Verification” and will display a “Not Verified” seal as warning instead. Municipalities can also make use of this feature to retrieve information about verified Funeral Undertakers. To have all Funeral Undertakers verified and listed is one of our top priorities.
