Afrikara Community Company Information
General information
We are a community of committed agro-ecologists who live on the farm 'Hoekiesdam' - a 34-hectare piece of land close to the Breede River between Wolseley and Worcester, Western Cape, South Africa.
We have an established cooperative called "Afrikara" which means Divine Light of Africa.
Our 'soul' mission is to enliven the soil we live on, so we can grow food that nourishes our bodies, minds and spirits. We practice ethical, natural farming and use biodynamic ethics to produce our dairy products, our free-range eggs and lamb, our amazing sprouts, our veggies and our herbs.
We strive to teach as many people as possible to care for the earth, and host camps, workshops and courses as a practical introduction to natural farming and community living - for both children and adults alike on our farm.
