General information

Our mission is to undertake the production, documentation, packaging, marketing and selling of Indigenous African Music and Dance products and services locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. This resonates very well with President Jacob Zuma's 2015 State of the Nation Address where he put emphasis on the prioritization of government funding towards Small to Medium Enterprises, especially Cooperatives operating in the previously marginalized rural areas of South Africa. As a cooperative operating within a historically 'non-scientific' region, we would like to make a case for a the recognition of organizations operating outside the current arrangement of the National Innovation System wherein the interaction between a circle of actors does not extend beyond the set rules of engagement, norms and knowledge values thereby excluding small rural based orgnaizations that also have the potential to contribute to the economic development of the country. Our model for knowledge production, utilization, application and use applies a mixed methodology which borrows from the theory of the Triple-Helix concept of government-academia-industry as well as the Post-Normal Science school of thought that calls for the democratization of science. Through our mission statement and internal structural arrangement with a Research and Development focus, we seek to become a knowledge intensive organization that leverages its human resources and localised communal knowledge to produce competitive products and services which can contribute to the econnomic development of the country.
