Ethekwini Community Church (ECC)

General information

Established by the socially and spiritually savvy Pastor Vusi and Dr Taki Dube, the Ethekwini Community Church was formed to empower African black people to take their position of influence in the global arena.

Launched in the Durban community engulfed by poverty, economic uncertainty, social ills, the Ethekwini Community Church (ECC) was born to bring new life and socioeconomic freedom to the African community.

With scores of Africans having been living in poverty, unemployment, the young men and women together with other members of the congregation are maximizing their potential in the church, corporate world, academic and society.

As we pontificate on the word of God, we encourage family values, growth, career development and contribution in the development of our society, investment in the lives of our people by all members of our church who hail from various backgrounds with a blend of skills that help to shape our society.

What started as congregation of scores of worshipers in the inner city of Durban in 2005 has now spread to eLamontville, eChesterville, eMlazi, eMgungundlovu, eMpumalanga, eMnambithi, eDumbe and eMount Frere in the Eastern Cape Province.

Started under the empowerment vision, all ECC churches have a community outreach arm with programs to benefit Orphans and Vulnerable Children, people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS, the poorest of the poor in our society while engaging local leadership in the facilitation of social development of the society.
