General information

The homestead dates back to the 18th century and bears witness to the history of this land and the families who cultivated it passionately.

For decades, vines graced the hills, until a devastating harvest in 1998 forced the previous farmers to give up their vines and plant olive trees instead.

In 2005 the Belgian van Wassenhove family bought the 117 ha farm and transformed it into a boutique Olive Estate topped with a 4* luxury country lodge. The exceptional Klaasvoogd terroir is what gives Igadi's Extra Virgin Olive Oil its distinct flavour.

IGADI YE-OLIVA in Xhosa means Olive Garden and celebrates the oil's harmonious balance of unadulterated delicate flavours. Extra virgin olive oil is the very essence of nature. It has extraordinary healing properties, and continues to be a culinary delight.
