VinPro

General information

VinPro is the representative organisation for close to 3 500 South African wine producer and cellar members, striving towards their commercial sustainability, as well as that of the broader producer industry and its strategic role-players. As such, it is their mouthpiece at all relevant forums and in dealings with Government.

Services include:
Consultation in soil science and GIS, viticulture, agricultural economics, black economic empowerment (BEE) and general management
Promoting social development through dedicated ethical trade, training and research initiatives and funding
Strategic support to cellars/processors to enhance efficiency
Information transfer through the monthly WineLand magazine, annual Wynboer Technical Yearbook and SA Wine Industry Directory, as well as websites, newsletters, social media and relevant apps.
Setting up various communication initiatives and forums with role-players in the wine industry, including the annual Nedbank VinPro Information Day, WineLand Seminar and Rootstock sessions.
Facilitating transfer of the latest technology and results
Ensuring access to top quality plant material and specialised information management systems – via respective shareholding in Vititec (Pty) Ltd and Farm Management Systems (Pty) Ltd.

VinPro also plays a key role in facilitating the Wine Industry Strategic Exercise (WISE), a collaborative effort from all relevant role-players in developing a framework towards an adaptable, robust, globally competitive and profitable wine and brandy industry.
