We are currently a sole proprietorship, owned by Lorette Janse van Rensburg, after the death of Nigel Petzer. Lorette and Nigel were partners in the firm for eight years at the time of his death. Lorette is committed to the future of the firm and intend to enter into a new partnership or alternatively to incorporate the firm.

Our Founding Partners

The founding partners of the firm are Nigel Petzer, Una du Toit and Lesley Ramulifho.

Nigel Petzer, a graduate of Unisa, was admitted as an attorney in January 1991. He spent 19 years at Rooth and Wessels Incorporated and was the founding director in charge of their Cyberlaw Department. In July 2004 Nigel resigned from Rooth and Wessels Incorporated to form Petzer, du Toit & Ramulifho. Nigel played an active role in the management of the firm and our Litigation Department, until his intimely death on 14 November 2014.

Una du Toit, a graduate of the North-West University’s Potchefstroom Campus, practiced as an attorney and an advocate, before leaving the profession to work in the corporate world. She rejoined the profession as a Conveyancer with the establishment of Petzer, du Toit & Ramulifho. Una left the firm in May 2007 to pursue a career in family law and mediation.

Lesley Ramulifho, a graduate of the University of Pretoria received his honourary leadership colours at the University of Pretoria during 2001. Lesley completed his articles of clerkship at Savage, Jooste & Adams and concentrated on all aspects of labour law as well as general litigation and commercial work. Lesley left the firm during November 2007 to pursue other business opportunities.
