Private collector and contemporary art aficionado, Alan Uria joined Clive Sergay in 2001, and utilised his knowledge and expertise to acquire a sought after collection of contemporary lithographs, etchings and other original works on paper.
"When the idea for The White House Gallery was first conceived we had a bigger picture in mind. More than catering to the discerning tastes of serious collectors of contemporary, local and international art, we wanted to create an ambience in which first time buyers with no real knowledge of art would feel equally at home. So in recognising that building an art collection is an exciting journey, rather than a destination, we set about acquiring a wide ranging portfolio."
The White House Gallery has become an important source for Contemporary American & European Art, as well as contemporary masters such as Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore & more, in South Africa and worldwide.
