Jericho Recovery Centre

General information

Jericho Recovery Centre is a Christian mentoring facility tucked away in a corner of the Eastern Free State near the majestic Maluti Mountains. The centre is situated on a farm in a beautiful serene environment with spectacular views which generate a tranquil and peaceful setting.

Jericho Recovery Centre was founded in 2009 by a dedicated team, whose heart is to fight the scourge of substance abuse in South-Africa. Our vision is to empower people suffering from substance abuse and related issues, to transform and make a success of their lives.

After working with people for close to 20 years we have found that rejection and unforgiveness are two of the main reasons that people get caught up in dysfunctional behaviour. The main objective of our program is not only to assist people to leave destructive behavioural patterns, but to help people find purpose and vision for their lives.

Studies done by the WHO (World Health Organisation) in 2007 show that there is an extremely high relapse rate among people who participate in short term recovery programs. There is a 95% relapse rate within 2 weeks of people leaving short term recovery (3 months and less).

Our program is incentive based; the more effort our clients put into their recovery the more return for their effort. The program duration is six months, which is reviewed upon completion. Character transformation is a process and requires time and consistent dedication.
