Softworx was founded in 1995 as Baan South Africa. After a management buy-out our name changed to Softworx and we grew into a truly African company. In December 2000 we became a member of the EOH group. Being part of this prestigious family has allowed us to focus on providing the right solutions for our customers. We are now able to focus on delivery, while at the same time having access to capital and shared legal, finance and marketing services. Furthermore, we now have significant BEE credentials, as well as management support.

Corporate social responsibility:
We believe that education, health and job creation are cornerstones of any successful nation. In South Africa particularly, educating and employing people with disabilities is an oft-neglected focus of Corporates.

With this in mind, we investigated a number of different opportunities and chose to focus on helping St Vincent School for the Deaf. Seven years later, our partnership with the school is still going strong, and we’ve even been able to extend our support to MC Kharbai School for the Deaf in Lenasia. As many of the pupils come from severely disadvantaged homes, we sponsor two learners with a full scholarship that includes tuition, transport, uniforms and books. We also host a Deaf-Awareness Fun Day at our office, an annual blanket drive before winter and food hamper drives toward the end of the year.

Our Mandela Day contributions have included building pathways, re-doing playgrounds and painting classrooms – all done by members of staff on Mandela Day.
